Aisha Buhari, children observe Eid el-Kabir in Abuja

The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari and her children, on Thursday observed the Eid el-Kabir prayers at the An-Nur Mosque in Abuja. NAN reports that she was received by officials of the mosque on her arrival at about 8.25 a.m. Others who joined her in the prayer session were Dr. Hajo Sani, the Senior Special Assistant on Administration to the wife of the president, other aides and members of her family. In the sermon, the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheikh Mohammed Ahmad, urged Muslims to pray for the peace and unity of the country as well as for God’s guidance for the leaders. He advised Nigerians to continue to contribute their quota to ensure overall national development. NAN reports that this year’s prayers were observed under showers of rain. It would be recalled that the president’s wife observed the Eid el-Fitri prayers at the Ansar-Ud-Deen mosque in July.
