Foundation seeks funds for diabetes, high BP management centre

WARRI—GRACELAND Diabetes Foundation, a non-profit organization, is set to raise funds for establishment of a medical centre in advancement of its commitment to spreading awareness and promoting the right management for treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure in Nigeria. In a statement in Warri, Delta State, Founder/CEO of the organization, Mrs. Mercy Ekpoke, said the launch to be held Saturday at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, would be to assist speedy construction of the medical centre. She said: “The construction of the High Blood Pressure/Diabetes Medical Centre is the next phase of our service to the people and we appeal for support of all well meaning members of the public to commit to this project. “The centre being sited in Orerokpe, will be of immense benefit to the immediate environment and society at large. HRM, The Orodje of Okpe, Orhue I, has graciously donated a piece of land for the project.” The event is expected to be graced by dignitaries including Mr. Mideno Bayagbon, Editor, Vanguard Newspapers, the Orodje of Okpe, the Ovie of Uvwie, captains of industries, government functionaries and medical experts.
