He noted that the scheme will continue to improve on trainings, supervision and mentoring of corps members to reduce the penchant and clamour for non-existing white collar jobs and urged benefiting corps members to be determined to create wealth from the opportunity.

He said “I am delighted at the flag-off of the Fund training for corps members sponsored by the Bank of Industry in collaboration with the NYSC for corps members who have expressed interest in acquiring additional skills through the Scheme’s Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development, SAED programme. “Over 500,000 corps members have been trained since inception of the programme in 2012 but we had been faced with challenges of sourcing for start-up capital for corps members’ business proposals.

The intervention of Bank of Industry is a welcome development. “Corps members should take advantage and enroll for subsequent trainings, access the start-up capital and empower themselves and others so as to reduce the menace of unemployment and clamour for non-existing white collar jobs.”
