NAF graduates 77 intelligence personnel


To aid fight against militancy, insurgency

Makurdi—as the armed forces take steps to combat insurgency in the North East and militancy in the South-South, the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence, NAFSAINT, Makurdi, weekend, graduated 77 military intelligence personnel to aid the fight against aggression in any part of country.


Addressing the joint graduands of the Young Intelligence Officers’ Course, Intelligence Supervisors’ Course and the Basic Intelligence Course, the Commandant of the institution, Group Capt. Raymond Nwankwo, said the training was aimed at boosting the capacity of the graduands. Nwankwo noted that through capacity building initiatives, Nigeria’s national security challenges, insurgency and terrorism would become a thing of the past.

He said it was for that reason that the institution introduced new courses as intelligence analysis and improvised explosives awareness as part of its curriculum for optimum performance of intelligence operatives in the field. He lamented that successive terrorist activities carried out so far in Nigeria, clearly indicated poor intelligence network, hence the need for regular training of military personnel in the bid to end insurgency and militancy in the country.

Also speaking, Director of Air Intelligence, NAF headquarters, Abuja, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Usman, charged the graduands to use the knowledge gathered during the training to better the operations of the armed forces. in their respective fields of assignment.
