ADAMAWA: NDLEA raises concern over the use of illicit drugs


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has raised concern over the use of illicit drugs by women and youths which has taken a worrisome dimension in recent times.
The State Commandant of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, in-charge of Adamawa Mr. Yakubu Kibo stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

He said the Agency had embarked on sensitization campaign to enlighten the youths and the general public to desist from drug abuse. Mr. Yakubu Kibo explained that many travellers, especially during festive period like Sallah, Christmas and New Year smuggle substance of abuse to some parts of the country.

The NDLEA Boss also highlighted some of the arrest and prosecutions made by the command during the year under review. Mr. Kibo however appealed to the Adamawa State Government to provide additional patrol vehicles to enable the Agency fight the menace.
