NMA issues 21-day ultimatum to Kogi State Govt



The Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, has issued a 21- day ultimatum to the Kogi State Government to pay salaries owed doctors in hospital management board.
NMA at a press briefing in Lokoja expressed dissatisfaction over untold hardship on doctors and other health workers in the state. The Chairman, NMA, Kogi State Chapter, Dr Austin Ojotule, therefore, called on the State Governor to urgently wade into the issue of slow pace of verification of cleared staff that has slowed down the payment of genuine workers in health sector. He said that doctors in hospitals Management Board are already overstrained due in the prolonged delay of their salaries stressing that this can hinder effective.
